I had a great time at the BattleBorn Breakfast in Washington DC today. Senators Cortez Mastos and Rosen are carrying on the tradition that was started many years ago by Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reed of Nevada. Once a month, the senators welcome Nevadan’s who are visiting our nations capital to a light breakfast and an opportunity to meet the Senators.
It was a great opportunity for me to introduce myself to the Senators in a casual setting and get to know their staff. They both spoke and shared information about the congressional committees they serve on, and also a few words on their priorities.
After they spoke, I had the opportunity to meet them and take a picture. I thought it would be fun to take a selfie with them. They laughed and agreed. I don’t think it’s a common request. My favorite picture is the one the professional photographer took of me taking the selfie. So good!
Immediately after the selfie, I thought, I should start a webpage for selfies with senators, so I bought selfiwithasenator.com. Nothing is built there, but I’ll add that to my non-stop list of ideas. Lol
Later in the day, I had the opportunity to meet the Senators in their offices and discuss policy relevant to my industry. I found them to be receptive and understanding of my concerns and input. It was a successful day!
